Hello, our names are Wellington and Gemma Driedger
We are professional Christian counsellors passionate about the path toward wholeness

Wellington Driedger

I have a Master of Counselling through the Australian College of Divinity, and I am a Level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association.
My own journey through family hardship, Christian communities, and my developing relationship with God has been painful, complex, and deeply formative. These experiences have significantly shaped how I understand counselling, suffering, faith, and healing.
As a professional counsellor, I will never take you anywhere you do not choose to go. At the same time, I hold a deep conviction that healing, growth, and Christian counselling are ultimately oriented toward a restored deep relationship—with God, with others, and with yourself.
Your journey through anxiety, grief, relational struggle, addiction, trauma, or loss can become a place where God’s love and life are encountered in real, grounded, and transformative ways.
My particular areas of interest include…
- Relationship counselling
- Church and spiritual hurt
- Exploring personal story, family of origin, and significant memories
- Men’s issues
- Unwanted sexual behaviours
- Anxiety and depression
- Grief and loss
- Adolescents

I have a Master of Counselling through the Australian College of Divinity, and I am a Level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association….
I entered counselling because I deeply believe humans are formed to heal in relationships. I’m honoured to provide a safe therapeutic space that allows the opening and holding of questions, fears, coping mechanisms and behaviours, depression, and bone-deep insecurities and longings.
As I have embarked on my own healing journey over the past decade, bringing deep fears and insecurities honestly into the presence of God and safe guiding relationships, I’ve found a richer life through deepening authenticity and connection with God and people.
Pain, anxiety and emotion are not merely problems to be fixed but a gift that, through compassionate curiosity, can provide surprisingly clear insight into areas in our life and development that need attention and healing.
My particular areas of interest include…
- Attachment & story work counselling
- Anxiety & Depression
- Emotional disturbances
- Family conflict
- Life transitions
- Adolescent & young adult
- Church hurt
- Trauma
- Grief
- Meaning & purpose
- Personal growth
- Relationship skills & growth
- Social Anxiety
- Body image
Our mission at Emmaus Road Christian Counselling is to offer a safe, therapeutic space where a professional companion walks alongside you on that road—making room for painful stories, difficult emotions, grief, weariness, and relational struggles.
Rather than avoiding the past or striving for self-mastery, we believe healing begins by approaching our whole story with compassionate attention—not to stay stuck, but to move toward wholeness.
As professional Christian counsellors, we see Christ, who has traversed the depths of human experience, despair, and suffering, as the greatest, wisest, most caring companion one could have for the path of life.
